Still Life Stories

Collecting and using antique toys in still life paintings allows me to tell stories that are at times cryptic, occasionally subversive and sometimes simply a delight in quirky characters, shapes and colors. The toys that interest me most are human and animal figures from mid-20th Century, or earlier that I find in junk stores and flea markets. Wherever I go I am on the lookout for that special toy or object that speaks to me.
